March 11 fly to Cusco- Moray terraces - Pablo Seminario's art studio- Sol y Luna Hotel

Today our bags have to be out at 5:50 a.m. our carry-on has to be less than 17 lb. And we leave for the airport at 6:50. A.m. reply to Cusco which is at 11,000 ft. Then take a mini bus to tiobamba in the sacred valley for lunch at UNU restaurant followed by a visit to Moray terraces and the Pablo seminario workshop. We are staying at the sol y Luna hotel. We looked it up it is 886/night. I think it is going to be breathtaking too.
Off to that fabulous breakfast buffet.
We found out about all the security hubba last night. It was apparently Blink 182 band that came to stay at the hotel.
We took the long bus ride back to the airport. There was a flight to Cusco having final boarding at our gate and we rushed to get there. It was not our flight, we are the next Cusco flight in an hour. Well a bit of light exercise is good for you. Our carry on was too big and we had to gate check it. No problem don't need anything in it.      We landed in Cusco to sprinkles, our first on this trip, and a pleasant temperature.
Cisco means naval- middle. It is the middle of the Andes. The city in ancient times was shaped like a puma,a sacred animal. The language of the Incas was catchua. It is still taught in schools here.
Anyai-thank you. Pacha mama- life style to respect nature. Pacha cute- Inca ruler.
Cusco is at 11k ft, the sacred valley is at 9k ft. They say there are 4000 types of potatoes.
After a half hour we stopped by a lake to stretch our legs.
They was a lady with sheep on a leash.

After about an hour's ride, we were at our lunch spot. We had juice, vegi soup, a main course of fish, chicken and pork, and dessert of a fruit bowl and quinoa pudding.
Then it was off to Moray. At this site they believe the Incas experimented with plants, crossbreeding and hybridizing. It started raining on us here. Glad we were told to bring our raincoats. We stopped at a very rustic restroom and got a picture of the glacier and a couple donkeys.
Then we drove to the seminario pottery studio. He is supposed to be famous with works in the Smithsonian and the field museum in Chicago.
he took broken pottery and poured glaze on top of it and made another "work of art". It's not something that looks good to me.
And we got back on our little mini buses and drove to the hotel. It is made up of a bunch of casitas.
and on our bedthe grounds are lovely!
Now dinner we are too full from lunch so we aren't having it entree. We're having two appetizers and dessert. We saw guinea pig on the menu, but could not bring ourselves to order it.this is a cheese salad, and Paul had mushroom  consume. I had stuffed peppers and Paul had the sacred valley salad. I ate one of my peppers before I took the picture because I forgot. dessert was chocolate mousse with a chocolate brownie underneath with raspberry sauce. It was awesome! When we got back to the hotel room we discovered they had put hot water bottles in our bed. What a nice touch!!
