March 16-17 Miami airport and flight home

This is the start of a very long day. Bag at 10:30 branch at 11:00 early afternoon flight from Cusco to Lima. Then we get to hang out at the Wyndham hotel in the middle of the Lima airport. Until near our flight at 11:45 p.m. to fly to Miami. As our tickets stands now, we have a 12-hour layover in Miami. Before we start to fly to San Diego, we're going to try to change that. And somehow Paul's ticket didn't get marked TSA pre-check so we got to fix that too again. If they don't change anything, we'll get home at 10:00 p.m. tomorrow night. Ugh.
Paul was a packing master. We thought we would need to check an extra bag, but he was able to get everything in that we bought.  Go Paul!
We were supposed to have brunch today so we didn't eat breakfast. We didn't know we could have. We walked to a restaurant for brunch. It was eeg Benedict with raw yolk and partly raw white, then a little ball with beef stew on the inside and breaded, it was good. Then a piece of toast with very rare really raw beef on it. I asked our group leader if there was a vegetarian option I could have. It was really good cooked veggies on a small piece of bread. Then an unknown but good tiny dessert.all in all not a big brunch like meal. I got Hispanic ropita at the airport. At least I got some veggies.
On the way from Cisco to Lima we played sodoku on the plane. We collected our stuff and walked over to the lobby of the Wyndham hotel where Araceli our tour director left us. The concierge at the hotel was very kind and helped us talk to American airlines and we got Paul's pre-check status fixed. He had inadvertently entered his global entry number with two digits reversed. But they were unable to help us get any earlier flight. So we're still stuck with at 12-hour layover in Miami.
At the Lima airport we stayed for 4 hours at the Wyndham hotel before going over to check in with American airlines. We had a nice dinner at Wyndham. I had stir fry vegetables and Paul had spaghetti. Of course we had a nice big chocolate dessert. I had chocolate cake and he had lava cake with ice cream. Tried to find different flights to come back earlier but couldn't. Then went up to the gate and waited another two and a half hours till we could board the plane.
Lima to Miami was ok, dozing intermittently, but not real good sleep.
We were not able to change our flights so we won't be home till 10:00 tonight. I'm really tired. I put an airborne in my coffee. Oops!  So we spent the day in the AA lounge, I watched a movie on Netflix, we opened our sharp new epic my chart and tried to put in all the data, snacked through the day. The flight is in 1 1/2 hrs so I guess we will mosey down to the gate.

Chris will pick us up at 10ish. Go crash and pick up our doggie in the morning.
